Mentoring Program

The Alkulana Mentoring Program Is available for campers and former campers ages 14-16. These young people are paired with Alkulana staff members to maintain meaningful relationships throughout the school year. The program provides leadership development, spiritual discipleship, and service learning. Mentors and mentees meet together once a month for small group or large group activities. Spring 2010

VCU Men’s Basketball Game! – Team Work & Just for Fun
SATURDAY January 9 (1:00-4:30)
Drop off and pick up mentees at the RBA. We will drive together to VCU for a Men’s Basketball Game. After the game, we will return to the RBA.

Mystery Dinner Theater – Critical Thinking
SATURDAY February 13 (5:00-7:00)
Come and be Sherlock Holmes for an evening! We’ll have dinner together at the RBA and then investigate and solve a mystery.

Ropes Course – Team Work and Confidence Building
SATURDAY March 13 (11:00-4:30)
Drop off and pick up mentees at the RBA. We will drive together to Challenge Discovery High Ropes Course. We’ll be outside, so dress for the weather and wear sneakers. Also, eat lunch before you come!

Spring Retreat – Service and Spiritual Development
SATURDAY - SUNDAY April 24 – 25
Meet at the RBA @ 8am Saturday, and get picked up there at 4pm on Sunday. Drop off and pick up mentees at the RBA. We will drive together to Camp Alkulana for a retreat. The emphasis will be on service and spiritual development.
